Thiruvalluvar Statue

The Thiruvalluvar Statue was inaugurated in 2000 to commemorate the great Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar. The statue is 400 meters away from the shores and can be reached by ferry. The statue is 133 feet tall, depicting the total chapters in Thirukural, the poet’s greatest work. The pedestal on which the statue stands is 38 feet long, symbolizing the 38 verses dedicated to virtue. The statue is 95 feet long from the hair lock to the feet, symbolizing the 95 verses dedicated to porul and inbam, i.e., wealth and love. The idea behind this is that wealth and love must be built on a platform of virtue and good behavior.

Hidden Twin Beach

If Kanyakumari Beach seems crowded, we suggest moving further to Hidden Twin Beach on Kovalam Road. The beach is famous for its mesmerizing sunrise and sunset and is less crowded than famous beaches like Sothavilai and Lemur. Wonder Wax Museum

The Mayapuri Wonder Wax Museum is close to the Kanyakumari Railway Station. The museum is a part of the Baywatch Kanyakumari Amusement Park. The museum is home to dozens of wax figures of actors, politicians, and other famous personalities, including Manmohan Singh, Barrack Obama, Rajnikant, Jackie Chan, and Michael Jackson.
